What Ruaka is like
Town in Ruaka location, Kiambaa sub-county, Kiambu County, at the western end of the Northern Bypass on Limuru Road. Kiambaa constituency borders Nairobi City County to the south and counted 236,400 people in the 2019 census. Ruaka is former coffee plantation land, and zoning there allows apartment blocks, unlike neighbouring Runda and Kitisuru, which typically require standalone homes on larger plots (Business Daily, 2023). A 2022 Hass Consult report found Ruaka supplied 30% of all advertised apartment units in Nairobi's satellite towns.

- Under 20 km from Nairobi CBD by road (Kenyans.co.ke). Limuru Road runs through the town and the Northern Bypass starts here. The KeNHA Nairobi Western Bypass from Gitaru ends at Ruaka; in July 2026 it was reported nearly complete, awaiting road furniture and official commissioning.
