Parklands lies north of the Nairobi CBD in Westlands Sub-county, in the Parklands/Highridge Ward of Westlands Constituency. In the 2019 census the Parklands sub-location had 13,641 residents on 5.1 sq km and Upper Parklands had 6,837 on 2.3 sq km. It mixes housing with commercial use, hospitals, schools and places of worship (temples, mosques and churches). Multi-storey residential and commercial buildings have gone up in recent years, some challenged in court by the Parklands Residents Association. City Park, a 60 hectare park, sits where Limuru Road and Forest Road divide.
