What Lavington is like
Lavington is in Westlands sub-county and, for elections, Dagoretti North constituency; Kilimani ward lies to its east. Most of the area was once St Austin's Mission land held by the French Holy Ghost Fathers. It was zoned for low density, in Zone Five alongside Kyuna, Loresho and Upper Spring Valley under the older city zoning. Apartment blocks are now being built: in April 2026 the Supreme Court declined to halt a 16-storey, 512-unit block on Mbaazi Avenue, which residents argued breached a four-storey limit in the 2004 zoning guidelines.
